Professional Family History Research
For nearly 15 years, I’ve been deeply engaged in researching my own family’s ancestral stories. I also partnered with a local nonprofit to research and document those interred at a historic African American cemetery—work that required care, respect, and accuracy.

About Blayne
I have been researching my own family’s history for nearly 15 years. What started as a personal interest became a serious discipline: learning to read old handwriting, locating obscure records, and piecing together stories from fragments.
My professional background is in auditing and fraud investigation. After almost 30 years in that field, I am trained to find what is missing, verify what is claimed, and follow a thread of evidence without drawing conclusions too early. Those are exactly the skills this work requires.
In November 2024, I turned this into a service. I am not a franchise. I am one person who cares about doing this right.

Common Questions
Honest answers to the questions most people have before they send that first email.
This is one of the most common questions I receive!
Every individual has two parents, four grandparents, and eight great-grandparents—that’s fourteen direct ancestors within just three generations. Conducting thorough, high-quality research on fourteen individuals at once simply isn’t realistic within a standard research package.
For clients who aren’t sure where to begin, I typically recommend selecting one grandparent and starting with the Starter Family Package. In many cases, this initial project identifies that grandparent’s parents, spouse, and children—giving you a clearer picture of your family structure and helping you decide which branch you’d like to explore next.
Most clients return for additional research after seeing the depth and discoveries uncovered in their first project. Genealogy is a journey, and starting with one well-researched branch often makes the next step obvious.
To begin, I’ll need basic identifying information about you and the family members connecting you to the person you’d like researched. Helpful details include:
I encourage you to take a few minutes to gather what you already know. A quick call to a parent, grandparent, or other relative can often uncover valuable details. The more accurate information you can provide at the start, the more efficient and productive the research process will be. That said, there’s no need to feel overwhelmed—that’s exactly why you hired a professional genealogist.
Your privacy and the security of your family information are extremely important to me. I have almost thirty years experience in conducting audits and fraud investigations. I bring a strong background in data privacy in my genealogy research.
Genealogical research often involves personal details, family documents, and sometimes sensitive historical information. I treat all client materials with strict confidentiality and professional care. Information you provide is used solely for the purpose of conducting your research and preparing your final report.
I do not share, sell, or distribute client information to third parties. Additionally, I follow professional standards for ethical genealogical practice, ensuring that research is conducted responsibly and that living individuals’ privacy is respected at all times.
If you have specific concerns about privacy, data storage, or document handling, I’m happy to discuss them before we begin your project. Your trust matters—and protecting your family’s story is part of that responsibility.
